Spiritual Sponsorship Program
Thank you for your interest in being a Spiritual Sponsor and helping mentor the residents at Jericho Road Ministries. Although this will be overseen between you and your pastoral staff, Jericho Road is here to equip and support you as you start the mentoring process and will provide plenty of resources for you along the way. Below you will see a list of requirements as a spiritual sponsor, and if you believe you would be a good candidate to mentor those in our program and post-graduation, please fill out your information below and someone will be in contact with you to discuss further details.
Requirements of a Spiritual Sponsor:
Must have a strong relationship with the Lord
Not currently struggling with addiction (Sober/Drug-free 5+ years)
Is active in their church
Is faithful to the Lord, their family, and their commitments
A good role model in their conduct & character
Participate in a Jericho mentorship training
Sign mentorship commitment
Purpose:
Our desire is to see each resident in our recovery program get connected with a spiritual sponsor who can help mentor them during their time in our program and disciple them post-graduation. Our hope is that each resident committed will stay connected in a local church through the encouragement of their spiritual sponsor and grow closer to the Lord and in community with local believers, as they continue on the path towards recovery.
Overview:
Every willing resident of the REbuilt recovery program at Jericho Road would have the opportunity to be paired with a spiritual sponsor of the church they plan on attending. This sponsor would be approved by their pastor and equipped by Jericho leadership through mentorship training.
The first several meetups will be scheduled as a part of the REbuilt recovery program (up until graduation.) The spiritual sponsor would then continue to schedule meetups/phone calls and encourage the Jericho graduate to stay connected in their church, get involved in ministry classes, and cultivate a strong community of believers that will help them continue on the path toward recovery.
